There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary!

Romans 5:3-4
Watching an ESPN documentary on Brian Bosworth – Bosworth was a great linebacker for the Oklahoma Sooners in the mid 80’s. He was the star player on the National Champion team. He created a persona – The Boz. (I won’t spend time getting into all that it generated). But there was something profound in piece. In a rare loss, actually a blow out, he played great. Even when the game was well out of reach for Oklahoma to have any chance of winning, Brian was going 100%. He would not give up. He gave everything he had.
It reminded me of my college roommate, Pat Harmon. He was a star running back forced to play quarterback due to injuries at the position. We are getting blown out late in a game and Pat is focused and determined like his life depended on it. He made no complaints. Coaches and teammates were amazed at his resolute steadfast mindset to continue to strive in excellence.
It made an indelible impression on me. He did that a few times. I speak about it in my first book, LIVE the Life Abundant.
What do others see in you in tough, maybe even unfair, circumstances?
How is your mindset when things aren’t going well?
What kind of attitude do you have when you’re getting your lunch handed to you…so to speak?
Do you bite your lip and forge on when people and situations are unfair or do you make sure everyone knows?
Do you become determined more than ever to do your best/ be your best/ act and speak your best?
One of the most impactful inspirations, to raise others up, is living excellent in character and attitude when you have every reason to not. A true champion.
Intentionally, today……and every day….Challenge others to a higher level of excellence by your example
